According to data from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines, exports of energy products recorded a drop in value of 12% accompanied by an increase in imports in value of 9%.
The energy trade balance deficit increased from 8,380 million dinars at the end of November 2023 to 9,869 million dinars at the end of November 2024, an increase of 18% (taking into account the royalty on exported Algerian gas).
The increase in the average price of Algerian gas is 20% in dinars and dollars between the end of November 2023 and the end of November 2024.
Natural gas resources (national production + tax package) reached 1947 ktoe, at the end of November 2024, recording a decrease of 19% compared to the same period of the previous year.
-The production of dry commercial gas decreased, in fact, by 25%, the royalty on the passage of Algerian gas recorded a drop of 11% at the end of November 2024 compared to the end of November 2023, standing at 824 ktoe.
National gas production was marked in particular by a drop in production of 10% in the Hasdrubal field, 40% in the Nawara and Chalbia fields, and 22% at the Miskar field following the total cessation of production on 3 until May 15, 2024 for the maintenance of the Hannibal factory, the cessation of production since October 18, 2024 for maintenance work. Production in the latter field resumed on November 11, 2024.
Note that total demand for natural gas recorded a drop of 5% between the end of November 2023 and the end of November 2024 to stand at 4133 ktoe.
