Liverpool (1st, 47 pts) maintains a six-point lead, with one more match to play, over Nottingham (2nd, 41 pts) which takes second place while awaiting Arsenal’s match (3rd, 40 pts) against Tottenham Wednesday.
At its City Ground, the team led by Nuno Espirito Santo took an early lead thanks to Chris Wood (8th, 1-0), scorer of his 13th goal in 21 Premier League matches. Liverpool pushed to equalize and were close to achieving it on a counter from Luis Diaz, well blocked by Murillo (35th).
The equalizer came from Diogo Jota (66th, 1-1), scorer from a corner just twenty-two seconds after coming into play. Matz Sels prevented a double from the Portuguese striker (77th) then was replaced by one from his defenders on his line after a strike from Mohamed Salah which hit the net (88th).

Manchester City led 2-0 at Brentford then were caught at 2-2 with a final goal conceded in added time on Tuesday in the Premier League at Brentford, a new disappointment in a difficult season.
Pep Guardiola’s team remains sixth in the standings with 35 points, like Newcastle (5th, 35 pts) who have played one game less. Chelsea (4th, 37 pts) retain two more points after their draw Tuesday at home against Bournemouth (2-2).
The reigning four-time English champions took off with a double from Phil Foden (66th, 78th) before losing to Yoane Wissa (82nd, 2-1) and Christian Norgaard (90th + 2, 2-2) .
