Private flights, refusal to train… Jimmy Butler’s whims are not new

While Jimmy Butler is still suspended by the Miami Heat and awaiting a trade, information on the behavior of the All-Star guard in recent years was relayed by journalist Jake Fischer. According to him, it had become common, since last season, for Butler to voluntarily skip the morning shootaround and insist on traveling on a private plane, separated from his teammates. Still according to the same source, Jimmy Butler’s “narrow-minded” attitude, on and off the field, would have even annoyed some of his close friends in the locker room, like Kyle Lowry, who has since left for Philadephia.

Former franchise star Tim Hardaway told Sirius XM that Pat Riley sent a 10-page letter to the players’ union describing Butler’s misconduct.

Among Jimmy Butler’s reasons for dissatisfaction, there would be the management of the workforce and the departures of players he considered fundamental for the locker room and on the field, notably Max Strus and Gabe Vincent, respectively gone to Cleveland and Los Angeles after the epic 2023 to the NBA Finals.

“You don’t disrespect the authority of a franchise. That’s what Jimmy Butler did and you have to take responsibility. If you can’t stand rejection because everyone has always said yes to you, that’s it. “It’s normal that you feel like it’s the end of the world”, Hardaway commented.

The Heat, who suspended Butler for 7 games, remained on three consecutive victories before their defeat against the Clippers last night.
