The first WorldTour event of the year and traditional real kick-off to the road season, the Santos Tour Down Under will begin in a week, from January 21 to 26. For this 25th edition of the Australian race, the team Soudal Quick-Step will present a solid team composition between youth and experience organized around William Junior Lecerfthe promising Belgian being able to do well in the legendary climb of Willunga Hill but also that de Knotts Hill to aim for a good general. Among the newcomers who will try to help him and will perform their first spins with the Wolfpackthe Dutch Pascal Unicorn and the young Italian Andrea Raccagni (promoted from the reserves) will be keen to distinguish themselves under their new colors.

The rest of the squad will be made up of the French Antoine Hubyfrom the British James Knoxfrom Danish Casper Pedersen and the experienced Belgian Pieter Serry. “The Tour Down Under offers a course with a little bit of everything for everyone: sprinters, punchers and climbers. The two stages for the general classification will be demanding, so we should see them as real fireworks. We will go to Australia with a good team – a mix of young and experienced riders – and with a lot of motivation, because we want to have a good start to the season. We will approach the stages one by one, try to seize every opportunity and see what Junior can do in the general classification“, said the sports director Geert Van Bondt.
