After an absence of almost a month, the Ottawa Senators will return to their home ice this evening as they host the Buffalo Sabers at 7 p.m. (ET). This will be the Senators’ first home game since Dec. 14, as they have since completed a nine-game road trip. Tonight’s game will also be the fourth in the team’s “Throwback Thursday” series of games at the Canadian Tire Centre. Tickets for tonight’s game are available HERE.

Fans who cannot attend the game can watch it on RDS or TSN5, or listen to it live on the radio on Unique FM or TSN 1200.

The Senators return home tonight after playing their last nine games on opposing rinks while the World Junior Hockey Championship was held at the Canadian Tire Centre. During that stretch, the Senators went 4-4-1.

This evening, the Ottawa team will try to end a series of three losses. The team lost its last game 3-2 in overtime against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Thomas Chabot and Brady Tkachuk both scored for the Senators, while goaltender Anton Forsberg delivered a solid performance to keep his team in the game.

After Tuesday’s game, the Senators made a personnel move, sending forward Jan Jenik to the Belleville Senators.

The Buffalo Sabers come into this evening after winning 4-3 in a shootout against the Washington Capitals on Monday. In the last clash between the Sabers and the Senators, on November 5, the latter lost 5 to 1 in Buffalo. Forward Ridly Greig scored the only goal for the Senators.

At the end of the team’s morning skate this morning, everything suggests that goaltender Anton Forsberg will get the start in net for the Senators. With Jan Jenik returning to Belleville, forward Cole Reinhardt should be reinstated in the Senators’ lineup.

Fans in the stands for tonight’s game will enjoy “Throwback Thursday” prices for food and drinks, such as $3 soft serve ice cream and $5 popcorn and hot dogs.

The first 10,000 fans will receive a limited edition poster from the “Thursday Retro” series created by Canadian visual artist Samantha Woj. The fourth poster in this series features a work featuring goalkeeper Patrick Lalime.
