NFL – The Las Vegas Raiders decided to fire their head coach Antonio Pierce on Monday.
The day after each regular season in the NFL is Black Monday, this day of fear for coaches. This year, Antonio Pierce was one of the victims of this disastrous day during which coaches who performed poorly during the regular season were dismissed from their positions. It is therefore Pierce’s turn to walk out the door after a final defeat against the Los Angeles Chargers during the eighteenth and final day of the 2024 regular season.
Arrived at the head of the Las Vegas Raiders as interim coach for the end of the 2023 season, Antonio Pierce quickly managed to instill a positive dynamic into this team of Raiders in distress and had signed some exploits like during this victory against the Chiefs at Arrowhead during the 2023 Christmas games. Appointed full-time coach for the 2024 season, Pierce will finish this first full season with a record of only 4 wins for 12 defeats!
An insufficient balance sheet therefore to continue to exercise his functions as head coach during the next 2025 season. The Las Vegas Raiders will therefore begin looking for a new coach who will be responsible for making up the deficits of this workforce which counts everything as well as some excellent young players (like Brock Bowers) or less young players (Maxx Crosby). For Antonio Pierce, it’s the end of the road with the Raiders but maybe not the end of the NFL journey yet.
