New generation of R from OnePlus. Meet the OnePlus 13R, a device that changes its appearance, flexes its muscles and its price.
Alongside its OnePlus 13, the Chinese manufacturer also unveils the OnePlus 13R. Little information was yet available on this model until then.
For a long time, we thought that it was a name change from the OnePlus Ace 5 recently presented in China, but we were very wrong.
In appearance, they are similar, and they are both powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but the connection stops there.
Design
The OnePlus 13R is the first OnePlus phone to use Gorilla Glass 7i, an evolution of the first generation of Gorilla Glass Victus, formerly used on high-end phones. Its frame is made of aluminum
It is available in two colors: Astral Trail, an elegant silver evoking celestial bodies, and Nebula Noir, a deep black inspired by the night sky.
Its measurements are more or less the same as the OnePlus 12R. We gain a bit in width, but we lose a little in height and thickness. Similar weight: 206 grams.
On the other hand, physically, it’s a revolution. Screen, back, edges, everything is flat. It feels like you have an iPhone 16 Plus in your hands. At the back, the photo module also stands out from the edge, like on the OnePlus 13. This gives it more lightness and a refined finish.
Screen
The 6.78-inch screen has a resolution of 1.5K (2780 x 1264 pixels) and includes a 16-megapixel selfie camera. It is TÜV Rheinland Eye Care 4.0 certified for eye comfort and features RadiantView technology that dynamically adjusts brightness based on ambient lighting.
It has a dynamic refresh of 120 Hz, incrementable from 1 to 120 (LTPO).
Performances
The OnePlus 13R is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a high-end chip from 2024 that offers performance that is still very current. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage from us.
The OnePlus 13R is the first smartphone to offer the OnePlus CPU Scheduler. This service optimizes performance in games such as BGMI and Genshin Impact by allocating extra power via chip-level processing.
Software
The OnePlus 13R runs OxygenOS 15, based on Android 15. It benefits from four years of major updates and six years of security updates. A nice progression compared to its predecessor.
OxygenOS is a complete and easy to use interface. It is enriched with a few functions this year with an optimization of the space it occupies, in particular. There are also artificial intelligence functions, but not all of them are yet available in French.
Camera
The OnePlus 13R features a triple-lens setup on the back.

Understanding everything about the sensors of your cameras and smartphones
The main sensor is Sony’s latest model, the LYT-700, which offers better light capture compared to the OnePlus 12R’s IMX-890.
The second lens is an 8 Mpx ultra-wide-angle, the same as installed on the OnePlus 12R.
And in third position, OnePlus spares us the macro for a 50 megapixel sensor (S5KJN5) associated with a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. The OnePlus 13R uses algorithms for sharp shots, even at zooms above 4x.
A new double exposure algorithm allows the camera to operate in two modes simultaneously: a short exposure mode for capturing sharp edges and a long exposure mode for additional light and color details.
Battery
The OnePlus 13R has a 6000 mAh battery. According to OnePlus, it allows “ watch an entire season of a streaming series on a single charge “. OnePlus fast charging technology can recharge the battery from 1 to 100% in just 52 minutes via 80 Watt charging. The power supply is not provided.

The OnePlus 13R is available for pre-order today. Deliveries will begin on January 14.
Only one configuration is available from us with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Its price: 769 euros.
