Jean-Marie Le Pen died this Tuesday, January 7 at the age of 96. News which was announced by his family in the columns of l’AFP. For her part, Marine Le Pen was in Mayotte when the announcement was made. For several days, the head of the National Rally deputies has been meeting the victims of Cyclone Chido. A few hours before the announcement of her father’s death, she was on board a boat which suffered an accident. A “minor” collision and, while she was barely recovering, she had to face this sad news. But how did she learn it? Sophie Dupont, special correspondent for BFMTV, explained that she was on site in Mayotte. She says she turned her phone back on during a stopover in Kenya. The journalist discovered the sad news and said she immediately asked Marine Le Pen’s press secretary. The latter also discovered it and went towards the daughter of the principal concerned. “He went to tell her that her father had disappeared. Marine Le Pen got up, isolated herself and made phone calls, presumably to her family, she indicates afterwards. Once the information was confirmed, she was able to return to her seat.
