At the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025, ultimately nothing changes: service stations in the Grand Duchy still display the most competitive prices in the Greater Region for gasoline and diesel.
In less than a week, fuel prices in Luxembourg have seen two successive increases: one from January 1 (application of the CO2 tax), the other from January 7. Two increases impacting the three products available to motorists, bikers and truckers and which, despite everything, still place the Grand Duchy as the best “spot” for refueling with “at worst” almost 10 cents/liter less.
Luxembourg’s three neighboring countries have all seen prices at the pump rise since the start of the new year.
However, for the start of 2025, the global oil market remains wise. The cause is always the same: lower demand. As a result, the price of Brent does not experience sudden changes. And a priori, this should be like this for the rest of the year, economic analysts estimate.
