A partly decimated editorial team

Ten years ago, eight members of the Charlie Hebdo editorial team lost their lives in the attack on the weekly by the brothers Chérif and Saïd Kouachi, French people of Algerian origin who had pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda. Among the victims, the emblematic director of the satirical newspaper, the cartoonist Charb, as well as two legends of caricature in , Cabu and Wolinski.

Special issue

To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the attack, Charlie Hebdo is publishing this Tuesday a special 32-page issue including around forty drawings, the result of a competition on the theme #Laughing at God. On the front page, the newspaper calls itself “Indestructible”.

Commemoration day

The commemoration ceremonies of the 2015 jihadist attacks against Charlie Hebdo and Hyper Cacher will begin this Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the 11th arrondissement, where Charlie Hebdo had its premises at the time. They will continue on Boulevard Richard Lenoir, where police officer Ahmed Merabet was shot dead by the Kouachi as they fled. They will end with a tribute to the victims of the Hyper Cacher store.
