Asus has introduced a pair of massive gaming desktops, which it intends to sell under the ROG Strix G700 series. Both computers look identical thanks to their 58L cases, quad-fan systems, and “ROG aesthetic.” However, while one of them uses AMD’s recent AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, the other will come with Intel’s Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor ($599.99 currently on Amazon).
That being said, both versions of the ROG G700 are equipped with NVIDIA’s new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. For reference, the Blackwell architecture-based GPU packs 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM, which Asus supplements with up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and PCIe Gen 5 storage. Additionally, Asus plans to offer the ROG G700 series in air- and water-cooled configurations, all with tool-free access.
Additionally, the ROG G700 series is equipped with 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and a dozen USB ports. Unfortunately, Asus has yet to reveal the full availability or pricing of each SKU. On the other hand, Asus has hinted that AMD and Intel variants of the ROG G700 will be available in late March in pre-built, customizable configurations. This likely means that the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 won’t be the only options available either.
