Prime Video reveals premiere date for G20 movie starring Viola Davis

CULVER CITY, CA – January 6, 2025 – Prime Video announced that the film G20, an action thriller starring Academy Award winner Viola Davis, will be available beginning April 10. Directed by Patricia Riggen, G20 tells the story of US President Danielle Sutton, played by Davis, who becomes the number one target after an assault is carried out at the G20 summit. After escaping her pursuers, she must thwart the enemy’s plans to protect her family, defend her country and guarantee the safety of heads of state around the world. The film will be available in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.

“This is a Viola Davis you’ve never seen – heroic, fighting valiantly in a truly global whirlwind,” Riggen said. “With G20, I wanted to create a classic action film that was captivating, but which incorporated the high stakes of our modern age, marked by technological advances. G20 also stars Anthony Anderson as Derek Sutton, Marsai Martin as Serena Sutton, Ramón Rodríguez as Agent Manny Ruiz, as well as Douglas Hodge, Elizabeth Marvel, Sabrina Impacciatore, Christopher Farrar and Starr .

The screenplay for G20 was written by Caitlin Parrish and Erica Weiss, as well as Logan Miller and Noah Miller, with a story from the latter duo.
