The Daily Express reports that Manchester City are set to be the first of the Premier League’s top clubs to make a move in this month’s transfer window, with one of their top targets, Khusanov, now free to leave Lens.

According to CaughtOffside on SaturdayManchester City have expressed interest in Khusanov and are expected to continue talks over a potential transfer. The Premier League champions are considering an initial offer of €10 million as Pep Guardiola aims to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2025 season.

Other clubs like , PSG and Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on the 20-year-old, with Newcastle particularly keen to bring him to St James’ Park in January to help with their Champions League progress. It was also reported that Khusanov would be open to the move.

Despite this, Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently leading the midfield race. The club have already started negotiations with Lens and are reportedly ready to invest heavily to secure Ligue 1 talent as manager Vitor Pereira looks to strengthen his defense.
