A price increase still imperceptible

In recent months, the prices of mobile plans have fallen, even considerably. While the average price of an unlimited plan with at least 20 GB of data was €19.17/month in January 2023, it rose to €17.34/month in January 2024, reaching its lowest point. level in September 2024, with an average price of €11.01/month. Between January 2023 and September 2024, the prices of mobile plans therefore fell by 42.57%.

Then, since September, they have started to rise again, reaching €11.18/month in January 2025, as shown by our price barometer. In the space of five months, the prices of mobile plans have therefore increased by 1.54%. You will agree, this is nothing compared to a drop of 42.57%.

So, yes, the prices of telephone subscriptions are starting to rise again. But this inflation is (still) imperceptible to consumers. There are still so many cheap plans or 5G plans for less than €10.

The YouPrice Infinity package: one of the greatest opportunities of the moment

Besides, it’s not so much the prices that are increasing. But rather the same packages which are a little less generous in terms of gigabytes.

Example with the YouPrice Fantastic package. At the end of last week, this subscription allowed you to benefit from 300 GB of 5G mobile internet at only €9.99/month. Today, this package is called Infinity. Still billed at €9.99/month, it no longer includes 300 GB but 250 GB of 5G mobile internet.

Thanks to this name change, this mobile offer lost 50 GB of data. However, having access to 250 GB of 5G mobile internet on the or SFR network at this price is extraordinary. And you will see that there is even better.

Lebara and Lyca Mobile do even better

Indeed, if you want to benefit from a subscription with a maximum of gigabytes in 5G at the best price, regardless of the network it uses, you have the Lebara subscription (SFR network) which allows you to benefit from 250 GB, but for two euros cheaperat only €7.99. To have such a volume of gigabytes, there is nothing better today.

Conversely, if you do not need to have such an envelope of gigabytes, but if you want to spend as little money as possible to have a 5G plan, look instead at Lyca Mobile (Bouygues Telecom network). The MVNO indeed offers the lowest 5G package on the market, with 60 GB at only €5.99.

So, yes, telephone subscription prices have started to rise again. However, there are still a myriad of good deals. But hurry up and change your mobile plan. Because in the weeks or months to come, the situation might not be the same and the price increase could well start to be felt on subscribers’ wallets.
