The South African team of Orlando Pirates took the lead in Group C of the African Champions League, after its large victory over the Ivorian team of Stade d’Abidjan (3-0) for the 4th day of the group stage.
This situation does not help CR Belouizdad who, despite their victory over Al Ahly (1-0), occupies 3rd place two lengths behind the leader who is none other than their next opponent next weekend. The CRB must negotiate its trip to South Africa well and will try to win to increase its chances of qualification.
Because a draw could prove insufficient if the Egyptian team Al Ahly manages to win in Ivory Coast against Stade d’Abidjan. If this is the case, the Algerian club must not only win its last match at home against the red lantern (Stade d’Abidjan) and hope that the title holder (Al Ahly) wins at home against Orlando Pirates. Otherwise, in all other scenarios, the CRB would be in an unfavorable situation (general or individual goal-average). Remember that the 5th day is scheduled for next weekend. In the meantime, CRB will play tomorrow’s Algerian Cup match against CR Zaouia.
