Ons Jabeur has moved up two places in the WTA world rankings, now occupying 40th place with 1,334 points, according to data published this Monday, January 6, 2025.
On January 3, 2025, the Tunisian tennis player was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 tournament in Brisbane, after a defeat in two tight sets against the Russian Mirra Andreeva (4-6, 6-7). Despite several months of absence due to injuries, Jabeur showed a good level of play by defeating renowned opponents, such as Elina Avanesyan, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Zheng Saisai. Although her path stopped against Andreeva, her return to the courts is encouraging as the Australian Open approaches.
At the top of the WTA rankings, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka retains her first place with 9656 points, followed by Polish Iga Świątek (8121 points) and American Coco Gauff (6888 points).
