On October 9, the ground was broken for the expansion of the school and town hall. This subject, which has already caused much discussion, should see the delivery of the new premises next August. Renovation of the stained glass windows and the altarpiece of the church, repair of the water and sanitation networks, numerous activities and exhibitions by associations were also recalled.
The main axes for 2025
Work on the school and town hall will continue, as will the construction of a retaining wall and a staircase in the Claux space (work started). Frank Panizzi announced for the coming year the repair of the entrance road to the village up to rue du Puits, after the church, damaged following numerous works.
The municipality supports an individual’s project for the redevelopment of the former cooperative into a group accommodation for hikers, a plus for the village in terms of tourism.
A photovoltaic project and the continuation of work to bury the 20,000 volt EDF line by Enedis were cited, as was the continuation of the maintenance of municipal roads.
The extension of the Provence Canal water network is taking shape, the plans have arrived at the town hall and a first meeting must be held during the month. Furthermore, consultation with the Chamber of Agriculture is underway for the creation of a washing area for agricultural and phytosanitary equipment.
Citizenship rewarded
Before sharing the traditional glass of friendship and before Jean-Louis Masson, president of the departmental council and Anne-Cécile Vialle, sub-prefect of Brignoles, close the ceremony with their speeches, Jean-François Massué, president of the alumni mayors and deputies of Var presented a golden Marianne to the mayor following the strong participation of Pontois during the last elections: 81.70% participation during the first round of the legislative elections at the end of June!
