A triumphant cinematic UFO at the Golden Globes. Emilia PerezJacques Audiard’s musical odyssey about the gender transition of a Mexican drug trafficker, won four awards on Sunday January 5 at the 82 Golden Globes ceremony in Los Angeles (United States). This unclassifiable feature film by the French filmmaker notably beats out the Cannes Palme d’Or Anora by Sean Baker, and Wickedfilm adaptation of the famous Broadway musical by Jon Chu.
In detail, the musical won the prize for best international film, best comedy, best supporting actress for Zoe Saldaña, and best song. A nice track record for this film awarded at Cannes and broadcast by Netflix, which had ten nominations. Despite her performance on screen in the title role, and her nomination in the best actress category, Karla Sofía Gascón did not win the long-awaited trophy – which was taken from him by Demi Moore, striking in the horrific and ultra gory film by French director Coralie Fargeat, The Substance.
