the essential
Six months after the launch of this union between the clubs of Layrac, Le Passage and Agen, all the players are delighted with this agreement where the results, during this first phase, live up to the expectations and objectives set.
Decided and entered into competition at the beginning of last September, the gathering between the Layraco-Passageoises and the Agenaises proves, for the moment, a happy decision taken by the respective presidents with the consent of their staff.
Engaged in Federal 2 of the Ligue de Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the RFG is only just getting started. Out of eight matches played, seven victories including five bonuses, and one bonus defeat.

322 points scored for 240 conceded, 53 tries scored, 27 conversions, and one successful penalty. This group is under construction in its organization.
The only downside was that the start of the match was missed due to lack of vigilance in Villeneuve-de-Marsan where the Garonnaises were beaten. “We took this defeat on the 4th day philosophically. It allowed us to question ourselves, staff included, to know where we want to go with this gathering,” explains Erwan Gély. The RFG is 2nd in its group, one point behind the Girondines de Pessac, who they will visit on January 26 for a major shock.
“It will take time to structure, and not to rush”
However, humility remains a key word in management discourse. There will be other matches to negotiate well to achieve the objective of qualification. “We talk a lot between all of us, kindly and positively. We tell each other things. We have found a rhythm and we hope to maintain it to qualify for the regional finals. This is the first objective. We have a quality squad. »
Gely specifies that this gathering is fresh. “The girls didn’t know each other three months ago. » The mentor, with extensive experience at national and international level with national military teams, summarizes the promising effects of this union: “Agen had the infrastructure, Layrac-Le Passage had the workforce. For sport and for women’s rugby in Agenais, we had to create something to allow girls to practice this sport until they reach senior age. The presidents understood that we had to stop circling around the subject. It will take time to structure, and not to rush. »

Humility above all in the mouth of the Layracais mentor. This humility transpired during the group’s Christmas tree with shared pleasure gifts.
Even in the organization, this party was thought out. “The coaches had prepared the starters for the meal, the players at the front prepared the main courses, and the players at the back had provided the desserts,” explains Gély.
