Last year, the Blue Jays said goodbye to Cavan Biggio after several years with the organization. And clearly, that sparked something since he took a walk.

Biggio played in the Dodgers, Giants and Braves organizations to finish the season, both in AAA and in the Majors. It wasn’t a great year for him.

It was clear that as a free agent on the market he wasn’t going to sign a big contract. We could very clearly expect to see a minors contract accompanied by an invitation to training camp.

And now for the first time in his professional career, it is in Arizona that he will train. After all, his 2025 contract he signed with the Kansas City Royals.

Part of me expected to see Craig’s son sign in Houston, in his father’s organization, but that didn’t happen. The father is not the type to mix family and work.

To play in the Majors on a playoff team, Biggio will need a good camp. It’s normal to see that he had a chance, but he can easily go to AA, you know.

The off-season will surely do him good because the six months of the 2024 season have been eventful. And even though he played for the defending champions along the way, he probably didn’t find the 2024 season easy.

It remains to be seen how he will perform in camp.
