No one has defended him, except the French authorities, his friends and his publisher. Currently he is locked up in Algeria in appalling conditions. Khaled Drareni, the representative of Reporters Without Borders (RSF) in North Africa; Souhaieb Khayati, the director of RSF’s North Africa bureau, and Sherif Mansour, CPJ coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, are not accessible at this stage. Sansal: unprofitable business.

Before the court of appeal, he denied having “any relationship” with the complainant, an activist for the rights of sexual minorities who accuses him (supporting evidence) of having “harassed, kidnapped and assaulted.”. The lawyers had warned about his state of health and his conditions of detention, “who do not respect basic rights”according to them. On July 30, the world learned the truth. Not only does he enjoy excellent health, but he demonstrates that he is unstoppable: he insults Barlamane.com, defames Aïcha Guellaâ, president of the Association for Victims’ Rights (AMVD), erases his victim in all interviews which he gives to complacent microphones. Worse, he is preparing outrageous attacks against the Moroccan authorities in the context of Qatargate, an empty file.
The prison administration (DGAPR) has always made it known that Soulaiman Raissouni had refused to attend the trial.
