All audiences.
Exhibition “ANOKUA, between visible and invisible” from January 6 to January 24, 2025. Opening reception and public presentation on Wednesday January 15, 2025 at 7 p.m.
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia is a piece of land, a geological anomaly that rises to 5,775 meters above sea level, just 40 km from the warmest sea in the world. Here, the tropical forest and the edges of the Caribbean Sea rub shoulders with the eternal snow of the highest peak. In this Sierra, 4 indigenous peoples live: the Arhuacos, the Wiwas, the Kogis and the Kankuamos. They call it “the heart of the world”, “El Corazon del Mundo”, and they are its guardians. The photographs that Pablo Buelvas presents to you today invite you to the heart of the most sacred places of the Sierra, to meet the beings who populate it, whether human, animal, plant, aquatic or mineral. They are part of the editorial project “Anokua, the guardians of balance” which he carries alongside the Franco-Colombian illustrator and designer Gaitana Valbuena who is also his initiator, and the essayist Alexandrine Stehelin.
