In a few hours, the curtain will fall on the 2024 regular season, giving way next week to the NFL playoffs and its share of suspense to guide us until the long-awaited Super Bowl on February 9! But before that, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers must do everything to succeed in joining these playoffs by seeking their qualification during week 18.
Tampa Bay has its destiny in its hands
For several years, it’s been a bit of the same ritual in the NFL. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are considered not to be the favorites to win the NFC South division title entering the season. And finally, the Buccaneers are one small victory this Sunday away from capturing their fourth consecutive division title… and an automatic berth for the playoffs which start next week.
Before facing this 18th and final week of competition, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have their destiny fully in their hands. The equation is indeed very simple for the Florida franchise: if successful, they will become division champions and will obtain the last ticket for the playoffs in the NFC. In case of defeat, we will have to hope that the Falcons do not beat the Panthers. We might as well secure the blow by going for the victory without doubt still relying on the untenable Mike Evans who can succeed in another season with more than 1000 receiving yards.

New Orleans Saints to save honor
As for the New Orleans Saints, this season has been a veritable avalanche of disappointment. While the Louisiana franchise had started this 2024 exercise perfectly, Derek Carr’s teammates quickly gave up and never recovered from a series of injuries even after dismissing Dennis Allen, their head coach, during the season.
Long out of the running for the playoffs, the New Orleans Saints will probably not do any favors to the Tampa Bay Buccanners. Indeed, if the Buccaneers win and become division champions, they would then join the Saints on the list of teams with the most NFC South division titles in history. A motivation undoubtedly to try to deprive the Buccaneers of the playoffs.
