The mayor of Montpellier Michaël Delafosse (PS) and the prefect of Hérault François-Xavier Lauch reported to the courts on Saturday the publication on TikTok of a video by this influencer residing in Montpellier, in which he called for violence against a Algerian anti-regime protester. “Kill him, let him suffer,” says Doualemn.
The prosecution immediately referred “the Montpellier police station for an investigation into the charge of public and direct provocation and no follow-up to commit a crime”.
Threat of OQTF
Michaël Delafosse recalled on Saturday on X that “incitement to hatred is a crime” and that as such “this video leaves no doubt”. Video described by the prefect of Hérault, on the same social network, as “intolerable”. The Hérault prefecture also informed AFP that it was studying the possibility of withdrawing this influencer’s residence permit and taking an OQTF against him. “The intelligence services are studying these cases very closely,” said those close to the Minister of the Interior.
