In a pre-match press conference, Ruben Amorim was asked about the weaknesses of the Liverpool Reds.
“Every team has them, even the best. We will try to find them, but to be honest, I am more focused on our fundamentals.
So rather than trying to find Liverpool stuff, I’m focusing on how we’re supposed to play. I have to find the way we have to play to win”he declared.
Man United coach Ruben Amorim is therefore aware of the pressure weighing on his team. He also spoke about the state of mind of his group.
“Players are anxious and sometimes scared on the pitch. We need leaders to step up to help others”he declared. Ruben Amorim asks that the management players take their responsibilities.
However, he himself recalled his share of responsibility in this troubled moment that Man United is going through.
“I am the person responsible here for improving performance. We see that the players are making an effort. Sometimes they are too afraid to play because it is a difficult time. I will help them to be better”he added.
The Red Devils are currently 14th in the standings with 22 points. They are only 6 points from the relegation zone and coach Ruben Amorim seems to have taken the measure of things. “I know it’s a problem to say this kind of thing here, but everyone needs to understand this. We know we are Manchester United and I’m not supposed to talk about that (relegation), but I want to be clear with the fans and the players. Anything can happen”he concluded.
