Lausanne signed a sixth success in a row in the National League. The Vaudois beat Zurich 2-1. In a remake of last season’s finale, this duel at the top ended up going towards the LHC. And as a reminder of Act VII of the final, the German-speaking Lions opened the scoring with Jesper Fröden, author of the 1-0 during this Finalissima at the end of April 2024.

Only this time, the people of Lausanne were able to respond. They were able to count on an up-to-date defense and an up-to-date front line. Oksanen equalized in the 39th after good work from his friends Riat and Suomela. The Finnish top scorer stood out in the 48th minute by scoring the decisive 2-1 with a subtle flick. Lausanne held on at the end of the match and now has a six-point lead over Zurich, which still has three games in hand.

Friborg unfolds

Friborg, for its part, continues to build on its success in the Spengler Cup. And who better to illustrate this renewed form than Julien Sprunger? The captain of the Dragons added his double to place Friborg in ideal conditions. The one who re-signed for one season is currently at 9 goals for 8 assists and 392 goals for…391 assists in his career. Mad.

Also note the second goal in the National League for the young Kevin Nicolet who is increasingly asserting himself under the leadership of Lars Leuenberger. The Dragons will certainly regret the Lugano goal which prevented Reto Berra from signing a deserved shutout.

Geneva is scared

Beaten the day before in Emmental 3-0, Genève-Servette had something to apologize for in front of their home crowd. Far from being great, the Eagles still found a way to pocket the three points, but it took time for the machine to get going.

The decision should have fallen in the initial third, but despite 8 minutes in the power play, the players of the Treille-Franzen duo did not deceive Boltshauser. It was during the middle third that the Grenat produced their effort by scoring three goals and not allowing themselves to be destabilized by Pesonen’s reduction in the score 31 seconds after Hartikainen’s 2-0. A superb solo from Lennström finally decided the fate of this game, even if the Eagles shook at the end of the game on Mäenalanen’s 2-3.

The “dunces” duel between Ajoie and Ambri turned to the advantage of the Leventins (4-3 ap). Kubalik came to put the final nail in the coffin in overtime. Too bad for the Jurassians who led 3-0 at the end of the first third.
