A member of Jon Moxley’s Death Riders faction has dealt a major blow during a major event. The current AEW World Champion will not be happy with the loss of his stablemate.
The Death Riders member is former WWE star Claudio Castagnoli (fka Cesaro). After failing to advance to the semi-finals of the 2024 Continental Classic, Claudio traveled to Japan for the Wrestle Dynasty event. He was scheduled to compete in a singles bout against Shota Umino at the Tokyo Dome event.
Umino was also a close friend and partner of Jon Moxley in Japan. However, Moxley was one of the reasons for the feud between Shota and Claudio. Speaking of the fight, Castagnoli and Umino delivered a hard-hitting performance in the ring, and the match ended with the latter recording the victory with a Death Rider DDT.
The AEW World Champion certainly won’t be happy with Claudio Castagnoli’s loss to his former partner, Shota Umino. The match at Wrestle Dynasty likely also planted the seeds for a future match between Moxley and Umino.
Only time will tell when the 27-year-old will face the Death Riders leader and current AEW World Champion for a possible match after defeating Claudio Castagnoli at Wrestle Dynasty.
