The interventions of Organizations for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and Moroccan legal entities, on the equities compartment of the central market of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, accumulated 62.4% of the volume of transactions in the third quarter (Q3) 2024 , according to the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC).
Moroccan individuals come in second position with a share of 25.8%, ahead of foreign legal entities (5.9%) and investors who pass through the banking network (5.5%), specifies the AMMC in its recent report on the profile of stock market investors.
At retail, UCITS, in a net buying position, made purchases of around 5.1 billion dirhams (billion dirhams) and sales worth 3.8 billion dirhams while their purchases and sales fell respectively. of 4.1% and 29.1%, compared to the second quarter of 2024, reports the same source.
As for Moroccan legal entities, they made purchases amounting to 3.1 billion dirhams against a sales volume of 3.9 billion dirhams. Both their purchases and their sales are down compared to the second quarter (Q2) 2024, by 43.5% and 17.7% respectively.

Moroccan individuals, for their part, doubled their purchases compared to Q3-2023, although these decreased by 26.6% compared to Q2-2024, thus reaching an amount of 3.3 billion dirhams. They also achieved sales of an equivalent amount of MAD 3.3 billion, which represents an increase of 89.7% compared to Q3-2023 and a decrease of 24.2% compared to Q2-2024.
Foreign legal entities made purchases worth 731 million dirhams (MDH), up compared to Q2-2024 (+25.4%) and Q3-2023 (+5.4%). They made sales of MAD 762 million, down compared to Q2-2024 (-40.6%) and up compared to Q3-2023 (+3.2%).
Concerning investors whose orders pass through the banking network, they slightly reduced their purchases compared to Q2-2024 (-3.9%), while doubling them compared to Q3-2023. As for sales, they increased by 34.3% compared to Q2-2024 and 39.4% compared to Q3-2023. Regarding market activity, the overall quarterly volume of trade in the central and block compartments recorded an increase of 49.2% to 13.1 billion dirhams, compared to the same period in 2023 (8.8 billion dirhams). ).
Casablanca Stock Exchange indicators closed the third quarter of 2024 on the rise. Thus, the MASI and MASI indices reached 8.06% and 8.12% respectively.
This strong rise, combined with the increases recorded during the first and second quarters of 2024, brings the performance of the indices to +18.9% for the MASI and to +17.4% for the MASI 20, compared to the end of December 2023.
