Rafaël Harvey-Pinard stood up for the Rocket, allowing the team to beat the Abbotsford Canucks by a score of 6 to 2 thanks to his first game with more than one point this season.

Rather discreet since his return to the game in November, “RHP” is starting to regularly collect points again. Saturday night’s game was certainly his best of the season and he has collected five points in his last six duels.

Having already been complicit in Filip Mesar’s success earlier, Harvey-Pinard himself hit the target at the end of the second period. Defenseman William Trudeau’s throw deflected off his thigh to beat Nikita Tolopilo. This goal was ultimately the one that made the difference.

It was a second start in as many days for the Canucks’ Belarusian goaltender. The Rocket, however, preferred to rest Cayden Primeau, victorious on Friday on his return to Laval, in favor of Connor Hughes.

The Ontario goalie got the job done, bouncing back well after his four goals on 23 shots allowed in his last start, on December 27. This time, he stopped 24 pucks, yielding only to Tristen Nielsen and Ty Mueller.

Sean Farrell, Vincent Arseneau, Joshua Roy and Gustav Lindstrom (empty net) also scored for the local favorites.

Building on his two victories against the Canucks, the Rocket will benefit from five days off before visiting the Cleveland Monsters twice.
