The investigation revealed that a 37-year-old master sergeant, a member of the US Army, was behind the Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas earlier this year. Investigations established that he had killed himself before the explosion and that he had no “animus” towards President-elect Donald Trump.

The incident “ultimately appears to be a tragic case of suicide involving a heavily seasoned combat veteran who suffers from PTSD (post-dramatic stress disorder) and other disorders,” said the Las Metropolitan Police Department sheriff. Vegas, Kevin McMahill, during an interview with Fox News last Friday.

Former Sergeant Matthew Livelsberger was the only deceased victim of the explosion and seven other people were injured.

Retrieved from one of Livelsberger’s two phones a diary documenting his latest movements, alongside a manifesto revealing his battle with PTSD, a mental disorder that can develop in a person who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event . Despite the apparent symbolism of the attack site using a Tesla truck, made by a company linked to billionaire Elon Musk, an ardent Trump supporter, investigators found no trace of political motivation in his writings .

Livelsberger was also a member of the political party “No Labels”, a movement that presents itself as an advocate of cooperation between the two main parties and the rejection of extremism.

Voter records from the El Paso County Clerk’s Office in Colorado show he initially registered with the party in 2020 and re-registered last July, having voted in November.”

An Army spokesperson confirmed that Livelsberger, a special forces soldier with the 10th Special Forces Group, had served in the Army since 2006 and rose to the rank of master sergeant.

“A seasoned combat soldier, having served at bases such as Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg), he also served tours of duty in the National Guard and Army Reserve. At the time of his death, he was in leave from his post in Germany.”

“We continue to review his background and affiliations, but nothing so far suggests any animosity toward the president-elect,” McMahill added.

The investigation is still ongoing.
