Premier League: Manchester City and Erling Haaland triumph over West Ham (4-1) and finally move on

Somehow, the Cityzens are getting back on track. Manchester City scored a big victory over West Ham on Saturday during the 20th day of the Premier League (4-1). The excellent Savinho provoked an own goal from Vladimir Coufal (10th) then allowed Erling Haaland to score a double (42nd and 55th) and Phil Foden also scored (58th). The score, however, says nothing of the recurring shortcomings of Mancuniens who have a second victory but remain sixth in the ranking.

The Citizens’ defensive difficulties appeared again at the start of the match against the rapid transitions of the Hammers and a sharp but imprecise Mohammed Kudus (7th). Those of West Ham, however, were even greater and Savinho was able to push Coufal into a mistake who clumsily deflected his cross into Alphonse Areola’s net for an opening score in the form of a boost (1-0, 10th).

Savinho still sparkling

This goal galvanized the Mancuniens for a few minutes but their excitement inevitably reappeared. Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne not working enough in midfield, Mateo Kovacic had to compensate and suffered. Manuel Akanji, for his part, struggled enormously in his restarts and thus gave hope to the visitors. The Londoners, however, did not target any of their 7 shots in the first period and Stefan Ortega was not worried.
