The Swede Sara Hector won the giant Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) on Saturday, counting for the Alpine Skiing World Cup, ahead of the Albanian Lara Colturi and the New Zealander Alice Robinson.

After setting by far the best time during the first round on Saturday morning with bib 4, Sarah Hector32, further increases his lead over his first pursuers in the second, securing the 3rd time.
The young Lara Colturi18 years old, second at 1 sec 42/100 from Hector, obtained the second podium of his career after his second place in slalom in Gurgl (Austria) in November.
Alice Robinson23 years old, third at 1 sec 52/100, won her 3rd giant podium this season after already entering the box in Austria in Sölden (2nd) at the end of October and Semmering (3rd) at the end of December.
Hector, reigning Olympic champion in the discipline, adds to her record a 7th victory in the World Cup, all in giants, the second of the season after her success during the giant of Killington at the end of November.
Thanks to this success, she takes the lead in the general ranking of the World Cup with 407 points, ahead of the Swiss. Camille Rast (383 pts) and the Croatian Zrinka Ljutic (356 pts), respectively 8th and 12th in giant on Saturday.
The Italian Federica Brignonewho made a mistake during the first round and who therefore scored no points, fell to 4th place in the general ranking and ceded the lead in the specialties ranking to Hector.
The Swiss Lara Gut-Behramiwho won the specialty globe last year, disappointed again with a 6th place and is still looking for his first podium this season.
