Proteas to ‘keep their foot on the accelerator’

Proteas to ‘keep their foot on the accelerator’

Hello and welcome to day two of the second and final test in this series. Proteas dominated the opening day, thanks to the mammoth 235-run stand between Temba Bavuma and Ryan Rickelton.

They will look to run up the score further today, with plenty of batters still to come. Pakistan failed to make much progress and was not helped by the conditions either. The lack of speed and variety in their bowling resources hasn’t helped them either.

Rickelton will be eyeing his maiden double ton while Pakistan will have the new ball immediately and will look to play with more discipline, pick up quick wickets early on and keep the intensity high.

SOUTH AFRICA: Ryan Rickelton, Aiden Markram, Wiaan Mulder, Tristan Stubbs, Temba Bavuma (captaine), David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne (semaine), Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Kwena Maphaka.

PAKISTAN: Shan Masood (capitaine), Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan (semaine), Salman Ali Agha, Aamer Jamal, Mohammad Abbas, Mir Hamza, Khurram Shahzad.
