Grenoble finds itself at the heart of a controversy involving social networks. Imad Tintin, known under the pseudonym “Bledar de luxe” on TikTok, was arrested for broadcasting videos inciting murder and rape. The 33-year-old influencer, resident of Grenoble, also showed his support for Zazou Youcef, another controversial figure on social networks, arrested the same day in Brest.
Two influencers in police custody for inciting violence
Friday evening, the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) the custody of Imad Tintin. “He too will have to answer before the courts for the vile remarks made on TikTok. Don’t let anything go,” he said.
The arrest of Imad Tintin was carried out in Échirolles, near Grenoble, around 7:30 p.m., according to Éric Vaillant, Grenoble prosecutor. The charges brought against him are heavy: “death threats materialized in writing, image or other object, committed because of race, ethnicity, nation or religion”.
A campaign of hatred and violence denounced
Bruno Retailleau draws on revelations from Chawki Benzehra, an Algerian political activist who took refuge in France. The latter published on X several extracts of videos incriminating Imad Tintin, whose TikTok account – since deleted – had several thousand views.
In a video that has exceeded 800,000 views, we see the influencer calling for serious violence on French soil. “Another Algerian influencer living in Grenoble calls for burning alive, killing and raping anyone who opposes the Algerian regime,” denounces Chawki Benzehra. He calls on the authorities to take these comments seriously and accuses certain figures close to the Algerian regime of leading “a campaign of terror in France”.
Zazou Youcef also arrested for advocating terrorism
A few hours before the arrest of Imad Tintin, Youcef A., alias “Zazou Youcef”, was arrested in Brest. This Algerian influencer, followed by hundreds of thousands of people, is accused of advocating terrorist acts and provoking hatred and violence.
In a video posted on TikTok, this 25-year-old young man, from Mostaganem, called for attacks in France and violence in Algeria. The video, subtitled in French, caused great indignation and led to his arrest by the police.
Authorities facing a new digital threat
These cases raise questions about the regulation of violent content online and the impact of social networks on the spread of hate speech. The accounts of both influencers are now suspended, but authorities are closely monitoring these new forms of digital threats.
In response to these events, Bruno Retailleau reiterated the State’s commitment to combating any form of incitement to violence: “No words, no acts will go unpunished. Justice will pass. »
