Update, Friday January 3: the trains were finally delayed by around twelve hours. More information in our new article.
Intercités N°5978
Intercités Train No. 5978, which left Clermont-Ferrand at 4:31 p.m., was due to arrive in Paris at 7:57 p.m. after passing Nevers around 6 p.m. But it is announced for entry into Paris-Bercy station at 12:27 a.m., more than 4 hours late. On its website, the SNCF indicates as a “main cause” an “equipment failure” on this line and mentions a “repair in progress on your train at Briare” (Loiret).
TER N°5916
This breakdown affects the circulation of the TER N°5916 which connects Nevers to Paris. Departing from the Nivernais prefecture at 6:26 p.m., this train, which serves numerous stations in Nièvre then Loiret before arriving in Paris, had to stop for more than 3 hours at Cosne-sur-Loire. And the SNCF explains that this delay is due to a “traffic incident” and indicates that “the breakdown of another train on the line affects traffic”. The arrival initially planned in Paris at 8:49 p.m. is postponed to 11:59 p.m.
Intercités N°5982
Intercités train No. 5982, which left Clermont-Ferrand at 5:26 p.m., was also announced with a significant delay. He arrived in Nevers a little before 7 p.m. and the SNCF spoke of a “122 minute” stop. These long minutes which have repercussions on the 3 hour delay announced for arrival in Paris, a little after midnight instead of 8:57 p.m.
Intercity Train N°5990
Intercités train N°5990, the last of the day departing from Clermont towards Paris, left the Auvergne capital at 7:31 p.m. But, still because of this “equipment failure”, the train is “diverted and delayed”. It does not serve Nevers and must arrive in Paris at 11:46 p.m. (instead of 11:01 p.m.).
These delay times are those announced at 10:15 p.m., they are obviously subject to change.
