The line started to form at 7 a.m. This Friday, January 3, 2025, hundreds of people came to wait in front of the entrance to the emblematic Fnac on the Champs-Élysées. By 10 a.m. the queue had reached the end of the street neighbor. The reason for such patience? The big sale organized before the final closure of the brand on January 12, 2025.

“Very bad plan”
A moment immortalized and shared on social networks. If some have come for the good deals, others also take advantage of it to say goodbye to a store they have frequented for decades.
Others, seeing the crowd, became discouraged. “2h30 later the curtain is still down. I gave up.» But among those who took their trouble patiently, not all recommend the experience. “It’s so bad, I waited in line for an hour and there’s already nothing left.”
According to France Blue Parisin front of the crowd and due to a crowd movement, the curtain was finally lowered .
Drop in customers
Opened in 1977, the Fnac des Champs-Élysées has long been a fixture on the famous avenue. But for several years, the financial situationof the store has weakened: turnover has fallen but not the rent. “The use of the neighborhood by the brand's natural clientele has been decreasing for several years,” Fnac explained to Actu Paris. After 48 years, the establishment will therefore lower its iron curtain one last time on January 12.
