After a record year in 2024 in terms of attendance, Vincent Thibault, director of the Confluences cinema in Sablé, and his team are already hosting several events in 2025.
“On February 2 we will have the Bodin’s in preview,” informs Vincent Thibault. The comic duo composed of Vincent Dubois alias Maria Bodin et Jean-Christian Fraiscinet who plays the role of Christian Bodin.
In October 2021, part of the film team Bodin’s in Thailand had already come to Sablé-sur-Sarthe for a preview. All tickets were sold out in less than 72 hours at the time.
Visit of the director of the film Junkyard Dog
Another event at the start of the year, the arrival of Jean-Baptiste Durand, director of the film Junkyard dogon January 13, at 8 p.m., for a film debate. The director won the prize for best first film at the 2024 Césars ceremony. And the actor Raphaël Quenard was named male revelation.
“This event is part of an Authors’ Journey, Authors’ Journey (of which Jean-Baptiste Durand is the sponsor) which is proposed by The Platformin partnership with the City of Sablé which hosts the first working week for young screenwriters which takes place in Sablé,” indicates the director of the cinema.
The Télérama festival at the end of January
From January 22 to 28, 2025, the Confluences cinema will host the Télérama festival. “It’s a resumption of the 15 best films of the year 2024 (chosen by the Télérama editorial team) and three previews,” informs Vincent Thibault.
Broadcast of the Shaka Ponk concert
Among the other events already scheduled is the live broadcast, on January 15, of the opera Les Contes d’Hoffman. On April 3, the Shaka Ponk concert will be screened live.
Cinema soon to be labeled Art et Essai?
Note that during the year 2025, the Confluences cinema in Sablé could be labeled Art et Essai. “We submitted our file in September and we will have a response in March. »
This label would reward the work provided by the cinema in the promotion of Arthouse films.
