Revenues from sales of this chemical compound amounted to 300 billion francs in 2023, according to the annual report published this Monday by the EITI national committee.

“For the year 2023, the volume of transactions carried out by companies in the extractive sector with foreign and local suppliers amounts to 1,967 billion CFA francs, including 906 billion captured by Senegalese companies, or 46%,” said indicated the president of this administrative structure, Oulimata Sarr.

According to her, the amount of 906 billion income to Senegalese companies is the result of the law on local content, which promotes the integration of companies and local labor into the production of foreign companies operating in this sector. sector.
Mining and oil revenues which continue to increase year after year

“This progression in the proportions of market shares captured by national companies requires in-depth reflection, with regard to the requirements in terms of local content,” underlined Sarr, also noting that 8,523 people were employed by the 26 companies which were active in the Senegalese extractive sector.

The extractive sector provided 9.40% of state revenue in 2023.

“For the 2023 fiscal year, the total revenue generated by the extractive sector increased from 275.32 billion in 2022 to 380.03 billion, including social and environmental payments,” indicated the president of the national committee of the EITI.
