This 2nd stage of the Dakar 2025 is the main event of the race. This is a 48-hour stage of more than 1000 km spread over two days. Placed at the very start of the race, it could well be decisive for the final victory.

A bit like a mountain event in the Tour de , the 48-hour event of this Dakar 2025 is the star of this edition. The crews will have to cover 1048 km in two days, including 967 km of special. This 2nd stage takes place in the north of the town of Bisha. On Sunday, at 5 p.m., all participants will be forced to stop and join one of the six camps set up by the organization. Equipped with a ration, participants do not benefit from the help of their technical team to repair possible damage. It will therefore be necessary to take care of the mechanics to leave at dawn Monday morning and reach the finish. And it is during this stage that the cars and motorcycles will be separated because the participants will not take the same route.
