These are my wishes for you and those you love.This little annual video is always a little moving for me because in recent years, in the absence of a real greeting ceremony, it was the only way I had to address you directly.This year, it is even more moving for me because it is the last time that I present my wishes to you as mayor of Sables d'Olonne, and president of its agglomeration.At 49 years old, after 17 years at your service, the time has come for me to pass on the responsibilities of mayor and president of the Sables d'Olonne conurbation this year.In 2008, I couldn't stand that Olonne was the soulless suburb of Les Sables d'Olonne. Together, we woke up “sleeping beauty” and got Olonne moving.
In 2017, we created a compact, agile, united, powerful urban community, which contributes every day to a quality of life that many envy.
In 2019, we succeeded in creating the new town of Sables d'Olonne and gradually calming down unnecessary internal disputes.
Which now allows us to look in the same direction, and to set a clear course for our maritime city, our city of fishermen, culture and adventure.With you, with your support, with your confidence, renewed in each of the elections in which I presented myself, I gave a lot, received a lot, made a few mistakes too, but I can assure you of one thing:
it is with a lot of heart that I gave 17 years of my youth and my energy to your side and to your service.Today I feel like I did my part. I did my job.
But I always thought that cemeteries were full of irreplaceable people and I always vowed not to become an old elected official clinging to his chair.
Those close to me know it well, I have always dreamed of having a private life one day, after my public life.
Well here we are.
By the month of September 2025I will therefore pass on my responsibilities as mayor and president of the agglomeration.
Until then I will meet you on THURSDAY January 30 for the greeting ceremony of the city and the agglomeration of Sables d'Olonne which will take place at the Arena.
Thank you all for the trust you have placed in me over the past 17 years.
Thank you for these 17 years, demanding, exciting.
We do not always appreciate the inestimable chance we have to live here, in this urban area and this dream city. mer.
SO, Let's savor it.
