At least 19 people have been killed since the turn of the year 2025 by Israeli strikes in Gaza, emergency services in the Palestinian territory announced on Wednesday, where bad weather is worsening an already critical humanitarian situation after more than a year of war.
The twelve strokes of midnight had barely struck when an Israeli strike on a house in Jabalia, in the north of Gaza, left, according to him, 15 dead and more than 20 injured among three displaced families, the Badra, Abou Warda and Taroush.
“The house was completely destroyed by two missiles fired by a fighter plane. Several people are still under the rubble,” said a rescuer. “It’s a massacre, children and women are in pieces,” he added. “No one knows why the house was targeted, there were only civilians,” testified Jibril Abou Warda, 35, close to several of the victims.
Gazan emergency services indicated shortly after that four other Palestinians had also died in an Israeli strike in Khan Younes, in the south of Gaza. Contacted by AFP, the Israeli army did not immediately comment on these two strikes.
