The crossing of the desert is perhaps over for him. And the year 2025 could well begin for Keylor Navas. Without a club since July and his departure from PSG, the Costa Rican international is said to be in talks with Colo Colo, one of the best clubs in the Chilean championship (34 national titles and a Copa Libertadores in 1991).

Since December, Anibal Mosa, the club's president, has been targeting the former PSG and Real Madrid goalkeeper. This is not the first time that Navas' name has circulated on the international transfer market. During the previous months, clubs from all over the world had been interested in him, notably the American club of San Diego or the Brazilian club of Grêmio or the Italian club of Monza.

In talks for several weeks, the file seems to be evolving favorably in recent hours. According to journalist Erick Zarate of TVN, Chilean television, Navas would have lowered his financial claims. “Initially, it was about 115 million pesos per month (Editor’s note 111,550 euros), and now we are talking about 85 to 90 million pesos (Editor’s note from 82,450 to 87,300 euros),” says the journalist.

In the event of signing, Keylor Navas would discover a 7th club after Deportivo Saprissa (Costa Rica), Albacete, Levante, Real Madrid (all in Spain), PSG therefore, which had for a time loaned him to the English Nottingham Forest. At 38 years old, Navas has 114 caps with the Costa Rican national team. Last May, he announced that he was ending his international career. Since then, he has been waiting for one last club challenge.

A PSG player between 2019 and 2024, he played 114 matches including a Champions League final in 2020 against Bayern Munich. His status as an indisputable holder was called into question in 2021 with the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma. At the end of 2023, he confided his frustration at being constantly left on the bench. “It’s difficult, I can’t complain because as a footballer, I’m privileged,” he told the daily AS. But at the athlete level, it's difficult, we try to do the best possible, to make the effort and to work. Not playing is frustrating for every player.”
