A bean a little special. And you might be very happy if you come across it. A bakery in Rouen (Seine-Maritime), decided to hide a small gold ingot in one of its pancakes.
It is a commercial operation carried out jointly with the Comptoir national de l'or which is carried out with the bakery The Fournil du Saint-Julien, in the street of the same name, left bank. The latter, throughout the month of January 2025, will offer its king cakes for sale, as usual.
A bean worth 445 euros
With one exception: instead of a small plastic bauble, the bean will simply be a gold ingot. A small ingot, certainly, but which will still weigh five grams and will be composed of 99.9% gold.
This has a value of €445. In fact, it is by purchasing a cake at the Fournil du Saint-Julien that we will send you a QR code which will allow you to participate in a draw.
“In 2024, gold has reached all-time highs, with an impressive rise of more than 30% over the year», Indicates the Comptoir de l’or, in a press release. Be careful, this said, there cannot be only one winner per point of sale. And the draw will take place at the end of the operation which ends on January 31.
Le Fournil du Saint-Julien is one of 43 bakeries in France which is participating in this competition.
