In this 3.0 update, the crew of the Astral Express will leave the festive planet Penacony and head towards the new world of Amphoreus, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the main story of this RPG turn by turn. The central mission that awaits players will take place in two parts and will span eight updates, from 3.0 to 3.7, making it the most extensive story arc in the history ofHonkai : Star Rail to this day.
Everything remains to be discovered about Amphoreus, an enigmatic world enveloped in a whirlwind that makes it undetectable and incomprehensible from the outside, while its inhabitants remain completely unaware of the universe around them. This is probably why they maintain their own legend, according to which twelve Titans shaped Amphoreus. But today this world finds itself prey to evil Titans, not to mention a mysterious force known as the “Black Tide” which has plunged Amphoreus into eternal night.
To mark this change of chapter, two new five-star playable characters are expected: Great Herta (who has a taste for simple things) and Aglaé. Here’s a breakdown of their skills provided by HoYoverse, who also shared a new cinematic trailer and around 30 screenshots.
« Great Herta is an ice-type character, specialized in area damage. In combat, she can inflict a stackable state called Interpretation on enemies, and attacks from other team members can also increase the stack number of this state. As Interpretation stacks increase, Herta’s abilities deal greater damage to enemies with the highest number of stacks. In addition, his ultimate transfers the greatest number of Interpretation stacks to enemies of elite rank and above, in addition to dealing ice damage to all opponents. »
« As the first exclusive five-star character in the Path of Remembrance, Aglaé can summon the mnemspirit of the Costume Designer to fight alongside her and together they display a unique fighting style that resembles a duet dance . In addition, thanks to their perfect cooperation, Aglaé and the Costume Designer can attack enemies simultaneously. This new mechanic increases the Costume Designer’s VIT while adding a rhythmic and dynamic dimension to combat, illustrating the subtle harmony of a two-person dance. »
Update 3.0 will also be an opportunity to go fishing for a few 5-star characters who are not yet part of your personal harem: Lingsha, Feixiao and Jade initially, then the Gravedigger, Robin and Silver Wolf in a second time. Honkai : Star Rail is still available for free on PS4, PS5, PC, iOS and Android. The game has exceeded 150 million downloads.
