Two neighboring municipalities which are merging: here is what happened, officially, on January 1, 2025. The decision was taken at the beginning of December 2024, by the simultaneous vote of elected officials from Pluduno and Pléven. So place Val-d’Arguenon, the name chosen for the brand new commune, and Arguenaises and Arguenais, as its inhabitants will henceforth be called.
To face new challenges
Started at the beginning of 2024, the consultation between the two municipal teams has progressed well. Indeed, faced with budget reductions, new environmental challenges, mobility, land developments or areas of net artificialization, the municipalities of Landébia, Pluduno and Pléven have considered the possibility of studying the feasibility of creating a municipality new, even if this first ultimately decided not to be part of the project.
“It is the culmination of meticulous work carried out over nine months on the founding charter. I would like to thank the commitment of all the elected representatives of the council, as well as the very strong involvement of the municipal services represented by Séverine Gautier, general secretary, underlines the mayor of Pluduno. It is important to remain faithful to our commitments during the actions we carried out together during our mandate.”
The election of the mayor and deputies of the new municipality will take place during the installation session of the first council of the new municipality, in January.
