Mikaela Shiffrin hopes to get back on skis soon

Badly injured in the abdomen a little over a month ago in Killington (USA), where she was on the verge of becoming a “centenarian”, the Coloradian ended up having to go through the knife two weeks later. She had her impressive stomach wound cleaned and, from the start of 2025, she got back to work. A return to business which seems to have done him good for his morale. On January 1, Mikaela Shiffrin tweeted her happiness at being able to move almost normally again.

“I can move, sweat and use my body, which is very exciting!” she chirped. The American announced her gradual return to skis: “I hope to be able to work on some easy turns on the snow in the coming week. I still have a little ways to go before I’m ready to ski with real intensity, pain-wise and fitness-wise, but I’m excited…”

His return to the White Circus is therefore not for the immediate future. The Women’s World Cup resumes this weekend with a giant and a slalom in Kranjska Gora in Slovenia, before continuing in the resorts of Sankt Anton (Aut, January 9 to 12), Flachau (Aut, January 14) , from Cortina d’Ampezzo (Ita, from January 16 to 19), from Garmisch-Partenkirchen (All, from January 23 to 16), then Courchevel (Fra, January 30). It will then be time for the World Championships in Saalbach (February 4 to 20). A plausible goal, for Shiffrin.
