The one nicknamed the “cat woman” breathed her last on December 31, 2024 at the age of 79, in a Parisian hospital. But what is the cause of Jocelyne Wildenstein’s sudden death? Here's what we know.
Jocelyne Wildenstein became known for her multiple cosmetic surgery operations, which the young woman underwent at the end of the 1980s to please her ex-husband, reputed to adore felines, modifying all the elements of her face. According to information from Public the “cat woman” was found unresponsive in her Parisian hotel on December 31, before dying in hospital. If no reason for this discomfort has yet been put forward, the cause of death mentioned in the press release from his companion, Lloyd Klein, indicates a “pulmonary embolism”. Related to a proven health problem? The last Instagram post of the deceased, with background music Die With A Smile (“Die with a smile”) questions.
Jocelyne Wildenstein had become a well-known figure in New York high society thanks to her marriage to billionaire Alex Wildenstein. However, the comfortable alimony that the Swiss woman had obtained after the couple's divorce in 1999 was interrupted in March 2015. A real Trafalgar blow for the one who then confided her distress to the Daily Mail : “I wasn't ready. How can I pay the dentist, the doctors, manage my house and travel expenses? I have nothing left…” The “cat woman”, who had published a photo of her original face on Instagram two months before her death, could nevertheless count on the support of her companion, twenty-seven years her junior, despite their arguments.

Jocelyne Wildenstein: the beautiful tribute from her companion
It was in a press release to AFP that Lloyd Klein announced the death of his partner, referring to his “pain”. Even if their relationship was sometimes complicated, the stylist seemed very in love with Jocelyne Wildenstein, as he confided in 2017 to New York Post : “Jocelyne is a wonderful woman, she is extremely refined and has good taste. She is a very whimsical, magical, original and beautiful person. Yes, she is different, but she has something that others don't have …” Lloyd Klein also spoke out against the criticisms against him: “Yes, she had a few small operations, but she didn't have her face altered to look like a cat. At 17 she looked the same as she does today, she always looked feline…”
