Daniel Tschofenig hits double

The Austrian hat-trick achieved in Oberstdorf did not dampen the enthusiasm of the German fans who came in 22,000 to fill the Garmisch stadium to the brim, on the occasion of the 2nd stage of the 4 Springboard Tour.

From the initial round the spectacle is there with Michael Hayboeck who has the luxury of breaking the springboard record. He lands like a flower at 145m and takes 2nd place, just behind his friend Daniel Tschofenig.

A little hour later, the Swiss Gregor Deschwanden, 4th in the first round, confirmed with a magnificent jump to 140.5m which allowed him to gain two places to take 2nd place.

Deschwanden equals his best career result and offers himself a 5th World Cup podium, surrounded by the Austrians Daniel Tschofenig and Michael Hayboeck.

Leader following the first jump, the incredible Tschofenig flies to 143m on his 2nd pass to claim his 3rd career success and at the same time take the lead in the general classification of the Tour, and of the World Cup.

Winner in Oberstdorf, Stefan Kraft missed his first round before returning to take 8th place but the boss of the Austrian team let slip a bunch of points overall in the T4T. Same sanction for Pius Paschke, ranked 9th.

We finish with 22nd place for Valentin Foubert, now used to second rounds in the World Cup.

The 4 Tremplins Tour continues on January 3 and 4 in Innsbruck, then on January 5 and 6 in Bischofshofen.
