A fire broke out in an apartment located in Draguignan (Var) this Wednesday January 1 around 10 a.m. Some of the residents had to be confined. In total, 33 firefighters were mobilized.
The Var firefighters intervened this Wednesday, January 1 around 10 a.m. for an apartment fire in Draguignan within the Les Negadis residence.
The fire broke out on the ground floor of a four-story apartment building. The apartment was completely destroyed, firefighters said. Three other apartments were also damaged by the fire spreading via the balcony.
21 people sheltered
The residents of the building located on the 3rd and 4th floors were confined inside the burning building. Residents on the ground floor, 1st and 2nd floor were evacuated and regrouped in a nearby building while waiting for the intervention to end.
In total, 21 people were brought to safety, one of whom was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Three firefighting engines intervened, and 33 firefighters were mobilized. Two aerial ladders have been deployed. The national police, agents from Enedis and GRDF also intervened.
