The inhabitants of Beauce will have to deal with severe winter conditions at the end of the year.

A weather alert issued by Environment Canada predicts 10 to 15 centimeters of snow, with potential accumulations exceeding 15 centimeters in mountainous areas, between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning.

This snow is associated with a depression coming from Colorado which will affect several regions, notably Beauce, Montmagny, Charlevoix and the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve. The precipitation will be accompanied by temperatures around freezing and moderate winds from the northeast.

Road conditions to watch out for

The combination of heavy snow and winds could lead to difficult road conditions. Variable visibility, sometimes significantly reduced, is expected, making travel more dangerous. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and adapt their driving accordingly.

Environment Canada recommends regularly monitoring alerts and forecasts to stay informed of the evolving situation. Citizens can also report severe weather conditions by emailing [email protected] or by posting on social networks with the hashtag #meteoqc.
